Sarasota Kiteboarding Locations
In the "Sarasota Locations- Lido Beach" YouTube video, Zach explores North Lido Beach in Sarasota, discussing its rules and notable features. The beach is known for its sandy area, ideal for kite flying, but visitors must be cautious around the bird sanctuary, where birders fiercely protect nesting birds. Lifeguard towers are present during summer and spring, and kite flyers should position themselves north of them. An additional spot is recommended at the south end of Lido Beach for flat water and strong winds, but careful consideration of the incoming tide is necessary. Limited parking is available at the beach.

To the northwest of Tampa and St Petersburg is a kiteboarding location out of your dreams. If you were to ask me to paint a picture of what kiteboarding heaven looks like, Fred Howard Park would not be far off. Imagine a small island off the mainland with a long bridge between the two. The bridge is a long jetty that makes the entire area a giant kiteboarding slick with flat water. The island is a large parking lot with sandy beaches and palm trees. The main beach is massive and looks like a slice of paradise. There is no kiteboarding allowed on the main beach. There are two smaller beaches on the backside where kiteboarders and wingsurfers can rig up. It’s a win as it has the best kiteboarding with the glassy water.
