Why Hangars Beach, Florida is great for kitesurfing.

Facilities at Barefoot Bay: Barefoot Bay has limited but essential amenities to ensure visitors can enjoy a comfortable day at the beach. While it doesn’t offer the extensive facilities of larger beach destinations, what it does provide is well-maintained and easily accessible.

Parking: Parking is available in a small lot located near the beach entrance on Florida State Route A1A. While parking is free, the lot can fill up quickly, especially on weekends or during peak season.

Arriving early is highly recommended to secure a spot. If the main lot is full, additional parking options may require a short walk.

The sandy shoreline of Barefoot Bay Beach is a decent launch. It's not the biggest beach but there is space for laying out your lines and preparing your kite.

Dog-Friendly Policies:
One of the standout features of Barefoot Bay is its dog-friendly nature. Visitors are welcome to bring their canine companions to enjoy the beach. Just remember to keep your dog on a leash and clean up after them to maintain the area’s pristine condition.

For kitesurfers, this is heaven on earth. You can arrange some epic downwinders in the waves and level up fast without worrying about staying upwind. Big air riders and freestylers can absolutely ride here too. The waves make for good kickers but the intervals can be shorter upping the challenge.

Wind Direction The beach primarily experiences North winds in the wintter and south in the spring, both which are ideal for kitesurfing.

These winds tend to be consistent during the fall and spring months, offering some of the best riding conditions for kiteboarders.

Onshore Winds: East winds are always fun but be mindfull on smaller beaches. It's easy to wash up on shore. Watch for larger waves on these days.

Offshore Winds: It might be tempting to rife the clean waves when the wind clocks offshore. We don't recommend taking the risk but some advanced riders do kitesurf with a mild side off wind.
