We need protection from the sunshine and from a harness rub line. Long sleeve rash guards, sun shirts, and neoprene toppers are a necessity in kiteboarding. In the sun all day wearing a harness you're bound to catch some rays and rub a rash at some point. Don't underestimate the necessity of a top cover. On chilly days where a wetsuit is too much but your body is letting too much heat out; throw on a 1 to 2mm thick neoprene wetsuit top by Mystic or Ride Engine and you'll kiteboard all day.
