Wounded Warriors Project Flies with Elite
Thank you Wounded Warrior Project Tampa for spending the day with us e-foiling and wakeboarding!
It was such an honor for us to teach these veterans new ways to enjoy the ocean. The Wounded Warrior Project helps veterans and service members who have a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound while serving after September eleven 2001. The project helps veterans adapt to civilian life through different approaches unique to each person.
The day was filled with laughter and smiles as everyone tackled each sport.
Throughout the day we observed amazing support within the group as well as the determination everyone had at succeeding in something new.
When there was time to rest we got to briefly speak with the warriors and do a quick interview. One of the warriors even interviewed Aaron to see what his experience was working with Veterans. Hearing how everyone loved their e-foil experience whether they were up and foiling or not, everyone agreed that the feeling of flying through the water was a 10/10 experience.
Another fun part of the whole experience for us was to see a group of veterans who have never met or mostly never tried either activity become close friends. Relationships were being formed while e-foiling and wakeboarding throughout the day. Truly, an unforgettable experience for Elite Watersports to provide a new experience and spend the day with such amazing people.
All in all if anyone has a chance to get involved with the Wounded Warrior Project we highly recommend contacting the Tampa location. The Elite Watersports Team cannot wait to have them back for more fun days out on the water.
