Our Review

we’re excited to share our first hands-on review of the brand-new CORE Air ExoTex® kite.

We wanted to see how this lightwind model performs in real-world conditions, so we tested it in ultra-light wind — under 10 knots. For this session, we ran the CORE Air and the Air Pro back-to-back using three different board styles: a twin tip, a surfboard, and a hydrofoil. This gave us a clear comparison of how each kite handles across different disciplines.

Right away, the CORE Air impressed us with its responsiveness and stability. Even when the wind was barely there, it generated surprising power that kept us riding. The steering was smooth, relaunch was easy, and it delivered the kind of low-end performance you expect from a high-aspect, 3-strut lightwind kite.

Compared to the Air Pro, the standard Air felt accessible for a wide range of riders. It’s easy to fly, but still has the lift and pop for Big Air once the breeze picks up. We think riders looking for a lightwind freeride or a progression-oriented kite will find the CORE Air a solid choice.

This first test was just the beginning. We noticed some design features that are really going to shine once we get into stronger wind — and we’ll be back with more videos as we put this kite through higher-powered sessions.
