The 2022 North Orbit Kite

The 2022 North Orbit Kite is one of the best kiteboarding kites on the market for getting big air.  This 5-strut kite has incredible control and allows the rider to have more down power than any other kite per square meter. Designers had one thing in mind for the 2022 North Orbit Kite and that was big air.  It was designed to elevate you upwind at top speed and with effortless steering to offer extreme boosting and hangtime that will make you never want to ride another kite again besides this one. The 2022 model has made some fine tuned adjustments to make this even better than the last one. Small refinements to the bridle ensure that you will have light steering impulse, stability, and the highest class of performance and kiteloop recovery. The Orbit chief Kite Designer Pat Goodman worked closely with the team riders to put the kite through hardcore testing in extreme wind conditions. This allowed for them to further improve the stability, feedback and the steering ability that gives the kite a lighter and more responsive feel. The new 2022 North Orbit Kite also has a reduced weight on the kite with lighter weight bladders across more sizes that makes this kite even lighter for better responsiveness in all weather conditions. 

The North Orbit Kite catches so much air that it was the kite used by the winner of the 2020 Red Bull King of the Air Winner. The 2022 model was made even better than that for even bigger air.  This is a high-performance big air kite that is stable and reliable no matter what crazy conditions you ride in, making it the most predictable kite in the most unpredictable of conditions. The size of the Orbit makes it the best kite for anti gravity boosts and megaloops to send you to the most extreme of heights. A wide and flattened two stage arc is held together by an exoskeleton frame on the Orbit to increase the glide that you get while riding with this kite. The science behind this kite uses the most out of its surface area that gets everything out of the kite to get the optimal hangtime and power for its size.  Aerodynamics have also been improved in the new 2020 Orbit as an all new extra panel has been added that connects to the leading edge seam. This improves the transition from the leading edge to the curved canopy to increase the uniformity of the kite. The reduction in inconsistencies due to this in the profile result in a smoother ride with more aerodynamic airflow and also the least turbulence yet.

The technology used to make the 2022 North Orbit Kite is second to none. All of the Orbit kites are made with high performance and high tenacity ripstop canopy. This high tenacity polyester yarn canopy material is made for lightness, high tear strength, and longevity for your kite. This comes with a new hyperflow rapid single-point inflation system with a large diameter hose for the fastest inflation and deflation to get you in and out of the water as quickly as possible. The cap and valve base have been updated for a more comfortable opening and closing for those cold conditions when you don’t want to deal with it. The main inflation valve is compatible with almost all pumps meaning that no adapter is needed. New technology has even improved the safety of this kite. The high-quality spliced and pre-stretched bridle lines are pre-loaded and measured before cutting to improve the accuracy and consistency of the ride.  This is a major key in improving the longevity of the lines. With the removal of all the pulleys in this new technology, it vastly improves the safety and will give the kite more precise handling.  There is even new technology to protect the safety of your kite with the duralite seam protection.  

This lightweight reinforcement protects the kite from chafing and abrasion along the struts to the leading edge.  Thin foam padding is inserted and forms a lightweight but durable buffer that lifts the kite slightly off of rough surfaces and protects the stitching along the struts and leading edge seams.

The 2022 model comes in three colors: marine green, red sea, and pacific blue and includes the kite, kite bag, and a kite repair kit. The kite bag remarkably is made of 33 recycled bottles. Also for 2022, lighter weight bladders have been adopted into more of the larger sizes. This additional weight reduction assists in making the new model fly more efficiently, so the kite feels even lighter and more responsive in all conditions.
